Delegate Candidate

Suzanne Burkhead

SAG-AFTRA National Vice President, Small Locals

DFW Local Board Member

As the incumbent SAG-AFTRA National Vice President, Small Locals, it’s especially important to be a Convention Delegate. During my tenure, I’ve pushed Local initiatives to the National forefront. Recently, I spearheaded the successful new Corporate-Educational Local Codes. I created the Marketing Work Group to also promote our Local Commercials Code. I’m inspired by the efforts of our Local leaders on behalf of the membership. I’ve lived and worked here my entire career, and I understand our community. We have exciting times ahead of us as our industry re-opens. I’m committed to increasing our incentives funding, as well as supporting incentives in Oklahoma and Arkansas. Please vote for me for Convention Delegate so that I can continue to work on your behalf. Your Local. Your Leaders.

SAG and AFTRA Member since 1978.

Delegate Candidate

Gail Cronauer

DFW Local Board Member

Proud Union member for 36 years and DFW local board since 2013. ACTIVE union member participation is essential to the vitality of our industry. I am committed to growing the union by reaching out to non-members as well as educating the next generations of actors.  During the pandemic, I attended numerous online workshops and panels offered by the union and was encouraged and enlightened by the creativity and resourcefulness of our union leadership and its members. I believe more than ever in the ability of the union to contribute to the health and well-being of our industry and our culture at large.  I have been able to “turn” emerging filmmakers union through education.  As the current vice-president of Women in Film Dallas and local representative to WIFT-US,  I connect with industry members from across the country.  I look forward to learning from them and working with them to find ways to recover from the challenges of the last year and a half. Serving as a CONVENTION DELEGATE would allow me to actively engage in that process and address the unique needs of our market. I would appreciate your support and opportunity to serve you as we move forward.  YOUR LOCAL YOUR LEADERS.

Delegate Candidate

Nikki Dixon

DFW Local Board Member

My name is Nikki Dixon. I currently serve on the DFW Local Board, where I have been a board member for the last four years. I count it an honor to have served our local and am excited to continue doing so in the next board term.  Therefore, I am running for a convention delegate seat where I can be a voice for our local to a wider audience. Please trust me with your vote. Your Local...Your Leaders!

Delegate Candidate

Sharon Garrison

DFW Local Board Member

A SAG and AFTRA member since 1975, I am honored to represent you on the DFW local board as Third Vice President and Convention delegate. Both as your representative and chair of DFW’s ProACT Conservatory, I vow to listen to members’ concerns and ensure that your needs are addressed in board discussions. Success in this market requires us, as your leaders, to focus on strengthening SAG-AFTRA’s presence in our TX/OK/AR markets and supporting policies that improve members’ lives and opportunities. That is my pledge to you. Your support is appreciated as we rebuild this industry. Together. YOUR LOCAL…YOUR LEADERS

Delegate Candidate

Nicole Hodges

DFW Local Board Member

It is when we are of service to others that we truly discover how to better this world in which we work and build our families and lives. Every time I discover a new layer of this union, seeing how many people come together for equality, better pay and creating safer environments for actors to hone their craft, I am more humbled and empowered to keep that trend going! Being part of SAG-AFTRA as a delegate for this incredible local would truly be an honor. I stand with you and for you and thank you so much for your consideration :)

YOUR LOCAL, YOUR LEADERS!

the card is only the beginning

For many performers, union membership is a crowning achievement in their journey to becoming a professional. But getting that card is only the beginning! Maintaining and growing union working standards and wages in a right-to-work-for-less market such as ours is a never-ending fight.

The nature of our work can sometime make us feel like vagabonds, traveling from audition to audition, and job to job, with no real connection to our fellow members other than experiences on set. As such, many of us hear news about our union purely from social media interaction, which is often inaccurate and sometimes even potentially damaging.

UNION STRONG DFW is a team of SAG-AFTRA member leaders striving to find PRACTICAL, ACHIEVABLE SOLUTIONS for the many challenges facing DFW Local members. We aim to provide accurate and timely information about the issues impacting union members both locally and nationally.

Growing a stronger union requires STRONG UNION MEMBERS!
